| Q. What makes Rent-A-DJ better than
other services?
Two things make Rent-A-DJ stand out from the rest. Our Customer Service
& Our Price. We know everyone is looking for good deal. We keep our
prices reasonable and our service superior. We are a family owned and
family operated business. We take a personal interest in every event we
perform at. We know and understand how important the entertainment is at
your event. We do not take this role lightly and we feel it is a
privilege and a honor to be a part of your day. When you meet with our
entertainment specialists, you will meet your actual entertainer. We
will not send someone else or some other company to your event. We want your
event to be YOURS tailored to your specific needs. We will not tell you
what you need, we will ask you what you want. How many companies will do
that? |
| Q. Are you a "full-time"
entertainment service?
Yes we are. If you call our
office, you actually talk to a person. Others claim to be "full-time"
and they are not. If you call their office, you get their answering
machine or voice mail. Some "full-time" services have office staff,
regular business hours, etc. While other "full-time" services only work
"part-time", when they want to. Our office is staffed "full-time". Kelly
is in the office all day, everyday. Our office is in our home, which
makes being there for our clients much easier. We take this business very
seriously. Rent-A-DJ was not started as a hobby, but as a full-time
full service entertainment company. |
| Q. Are your
entertainers employees or independent contractors?
This is a great question and
one you should ask any service you are considering. All Rent-A-DJ
personnel are direct employees. This means we do not sub-contract with
other DJ services. Our employee's are exclusive to Rent-A-DJ and use only
Rent-A-DJ maintained equipment. Many companies use independent
contractors to save them money on taxes and insurance. By definition an
independent contractor is someone who is contracted to provide a service
and not a direct employee. Their actions are not controlled by company
standards and their equipment may or may not meet the standards the
company advertises. Independent contractors also are free to come and go
as they choose. This means you might select one entertainer for your
event, but another entertainer may show up. Ask the service you are
considering do they 1099 or W-2 their personnel? A 1099 is a
sub-contractor while a W-2 is an employee. You will be surprised
by the answers you get. |
| Q. Do you have insurance?
We carry $1,000,000 liability
insurance and equipment insurance. Many banquet facilities today will not allow services like
ours into their facility without liability insurance. This protects us
and YOU. A company without liability insurance causes you to become
responsible in the event anything happens because you hired them. We
take that responsibility so you don't have to. |
| Q. Do you carry backup equipment on
site? We bring backup equipment
to every event we perform. Our background originated in the pro-sound
and lighting industry. We have travels across the country engineering
many productions. Things happen from time to time, and we have become
experts at trouble-shooting and repair on the fly. We primarily DJ with
a computer, but we carry our CD's, just incase. We want your day to be
perfect, and we do not want to be responsible for any disappointments.
This is also the primary reason we send 2 entertainers to most events. Just
incase. |
| Q. How do you obtain your music? Do
you download from the internet?
We have several professional music subscriptions with
companies such as
Entertainment Resources Group and
TM Century. We
receive new music on a weekly basis. This is the same music radio
stations are receiving and this keeps our library current. We then convert the music on CD to
the highest quality MP3 format. We do not download music off the
internet from illegal web sites. This is an important question to ask
any DJ. If this is how they obtain their music regularly, stay away from
them.
|
| Q. Are there any extra
charges or hidden fees?
Absolutely not! We really only offer 1 package, our best package. This
includes all setup and take down time, full light show, wireless
microphone, full music library, bubbles, fog, etc. We always arrive at
least 90 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin. This allows for
complete setup and makes for a very pleasant atmosphere when your guests
arrive. We believe since we
are already there, there is no need to charge for the extra's. All
prices are quoted up front and do not change. |
| Q. What will you wear to my event?
We perform at most events in formal or
semi-formal attire unless instructed otherwise. |
| Q. Can I choose my own music?
Absolutely! This is your
event, who are we to tell you what you can or can not listen to. We meet
with all our clients about 30 days prior to their event to finalize all the
details. If you do not have any preferences, then of course, we will do
what you hired us to do. We read the audience, and play the appropriate
music at the appropriate levels. Our ultimate goal is to keep the dance
floor full ALL night long. If you have music you do not want to hear,
rest assured, you will not hear it. Likewise, if you have music you must hear, you will
hear it! |
| Q. Do you take requests?
Absolutely, unless instructed otherwise. We
place on every table a request form for your guests to complete. We ask
your guests to return the form to the entertainer with their requests.
This also helps us to determine the tastes of music your guests like and
want to hear. |
| Q. What is your
alcohol consumption policy?
We have a NO ALCOHOL
consumption policy, PERIOD. We will not consume any alcohol at your
event. We are there to entertain for you and your guests. We are also
there to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time. Most people are not
allowed to consume alcohol on their job, and neither are we. We do not
need alcohol to be entertaining. |
| Q. Do you have references?
Yes, we have many references who would be
happy to tell you about the job we have done. We send each client at the end of
their event an evaluation. We want our clients to be honest and rate us.
This is the only way we will be able to improve our service. We will be
happy to show you any of the evaluations we have when we meet in our
office. You may also look at some samples of our references on our
testimonies page.
